WTC #8
James Morehen ran with the Kenyans
Kevin and Wiebke welcome James for a conversation about running, marathon training, training camps in Kenya, and the shift from endurance running to CrossFit.
James shares how he got into sport through football, discovered running through school athletics, and later built himself into a strong marathon runner. He talks about training for his first marathon in Copenhagen, breaking the three-hour barrier, qualifying for Boston, and what it takes mentally and physically to prepare for big races.
The conversation also dives into his experience at a running camp in Kenya, where he got to train, rest, and learn more about why Kenyan runners are so dominant. James also reflects on burnout, the importance of recovery, and why he eventually shifted his focus from running to CrossFit.
A great episode about preparation, commitment, training smart, and knowing when it is time for a new challenge.
